Edinburgh, UK Penguin Recruitment Senior Geotechnical Engineer Location: Edinburgh Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 Type: Full-time, Permanent A leading engineering consultancy is looking for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their Edinburgh team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced geotechnical engineer looking to take on greater technical responsibility across a varied portfolio of infrastructure, commercial and development projects. The Role Delivering geotechnical design and assessment across a range of projects. Planning and managing ground investigations and interpreting site investigation data. Producing geotechnical reports, interpretative reports and technical specifications. Undertaking foundation, retaining wall, slope stability and earthworks design. Reviewing ground conditions and developing appropriate geotechnical solutions. Providing technical input into multidisciplinary projects. Liaising with clients, contractors and other consultants. Supporting and mentoring junior engineers. Assisting with project management, fee proposals and business development. Requirements Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geology or a related discipline. Significant experience within a UK geotechnical consultancy or contractor environment. Strong technical experience across ground investigation and geotechnical design. Experience with relevant design software and Eurocodes. Good understanding of UK ground conditions and geotechnical practice. Chartered or working towards Chartered status with ICE, IOM3 or an equivalent professional body. Full UK driving licence.This role would suit a Senior Geotechnical Engineer looking for a technically varied position in Edinburgh, with the opportunity to work on challenging projects and take on increasing responsibility within an established geotechnical team
