Behaviour Mentor – Primary SEMH School
Haywards Heath, West Sussex
Monday to Friday | Term Time Only | Temp to Perm Opportunity | £92.59 per day
We are currently recruiting a Behaviour Mentor to join a specialist SEMH primary school in Haywards Heath, supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping young children develop confidence, manage their emotions, and engage positively with learning in a nurturing and therapeutic environment.
The Role:
Supporting primary-aged pupils with SEMH needs throughout the school day
Building positive, trusting relationships and acting as a consistent role model
Using positive behaviour strategies to support emotional regulation
Encouraging engagement with learning, play, and social development
Working closely with teachers, therapists, and the wider pastoral team
The Ideal Candidate:
Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, SEND, or challenging behaviour is desirable
Calm, resilient, and confident managing behaviours in a positive way
Passionate about supporting vulnerable young people to achieve their potential
Patient, proactive, and able to build strong relationships
Must be a driver with access to a vehicle due to the school’s rural location
