Role

As an Operations Manager, you will play a key role in establishing the North West region for the business. Working closely with the work-winning and preconstruction teams, you will be the operational lead focused on developing the new Liverpool office and building regional capability.

Based in central Liverpool, this is an excellent operations manager job role for an ambitious Operations Manager or Operations Director ready to make a significant impact across the North West. You'll have the autonomy to develop your own team, establish operational processes and drive business growth with strategic oversight from the board.

This construction operations manager position requires strategic thinking, strong leadership and excellent stakeholder management to coordinate project delivery, team development and client relationships.

Responsibilities

As an Operations Manager in Liverpool, your responsibilities will include:

Lead all operational activities for the North West region
Manage construction projects and site teams to deliver schemes on time and within budget
Utilise your network throughout the North West to raise the organisation's profile
Report to and liaise with business directors to make strategic decisions for operational activities, agree company goals and execute regional growth plans
Plan and monitor the day-to-day running of the regional office and teams
Oversee project delivery from contract award through to practical completion
Maintain and develop organisational culture, company values and reputation across the region with all staff, customers and suppliers
Recruit, support and develop new team members
Ensure company policies and legal guidelines are communicated across the team and followed at all times
Develop and maintain excellent health and safety standards throughout the business in line with CDM regulations and industry best practices
Build and nurture long-term client relationships to create repeat business and framework opportunities

To be successful in this operations manager job, you will bring significant experience leading operational delivery and team management within a construction main contractor environment.

Experienced Operations Manager or Operations Director from a construction main contractor background
Proven track record of managing teams to deliver successful business and project outcomes
Well-networked in the North West to assist in creating new project opportunities and tender submissions
Focused on building long-term client relationships to create repeat business through quality work
Thorough knowledge of the construction sector, market trends and regulatory changes that may influence company strategy
Excellent organisational and leadership skills
Exceptional communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address operational challenges
Commercial awareness and understanding of construction
Experience with JCT and NEC contracts, public sector frameworks and multi-sector project delivery is highly desirable. Professional qualifications such as CIOB membership, construction management degrees or NEBOSH certification would be advantageous.
