Are you a Construction Project Manager looking for your next role?

A new opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Construction Project Manager to join a well-established regional main contractor delivering high quality construction projects across the Commercial, Residential and Retirement Living.

We currently have a vacancy for a Construction Project Manager to oversee a new build project in Cheshire, where you will be running a project up to the value of £10million.

Our client is a reputable Tier 2 UK main contractor with a proven track record in delivering complex construction projects, including Retirement living and Student Accommodation.

With a strong reputation for quality, collaboration and integrity, they pride themselves on building lasting relationships with clients and partners, whilst maintaining a strong focus on safety, efficiency and sustainability. Their portfolio demonstrates expertise in multi-room construction delivery and project leadership across both public and private sectors.

Due to an expanding project portfolio, they are now seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager in Cheshire to strengthen their delivery team and support their continued growth across the region.

ROLE

As a Construction Project Manager you will take full responsibility for the on-site delivery of the project, ensuring it is completed on time, within budget and to the highest standards of safety and quality.

You will work alongside a Site Manager providing leadership, direction and coordination across all aspects of the build. This is an excellent project management opportunity for an ambitious Construction Project Manager ready to take ownership of live sites.

This Construction Project Manager role would suit an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in main contracting and a proven ability to take ownership of New build sites

For the successful candidate, there will be the opportunity to continue on to further projects upon completion.

Responsibilities

To lead site teams, manage client relationships, and play a key role in commercial and operational success

Must be able to produce, develop and monitor all aspects of multiple project programmes and implement recovery plans where needed.
Administer and manage contractors on site, including variations and claims.
Oversee programme, Health & Safety, and quality compliance.
Work closely with the commercial team to control budgets and manage subcontractor performance.
Act as main liaison with operations Manager for consultants, and statutory authorities for site and work closely with our in house design manager.
Promote and enforce high health & safety, and image standards across all projects.
Lead and mentor site teams and contractors to completion.
Contribute to contractor selection, construction planning, statutory authorities
Proven experience as a Project Manager within a UK main contracting environment with care home experience.
Must have proven thorough knowledge of programming & sequencing of works.
Track record of delivering multi room construction projects, (Care Homes, Hotels, Student Accommodation).
Strong leadership, organisation and team coordination skills.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
Minimum qualifications - SMSTS, CSCS (Black Card), and First Aid qualified, Temp Works Coordinator.
Degree in Construction Management or related discipline (preferred).
Chartered status (MCIOB, RICS) desirable.
PERSON

To be successful in this Construction Project Manager job candidates should ideally have:

Proven experience as a Construction Project Manager within a UK main contracting environment
Strong programming skills
Strong knowledge of construction programming, sequencing and planning is essential
A track record of delivering multi-room schemes such as Retirement Living, Hotels or Student Accommodation
Excellent leadership, communication and client-facing skills
Strong commercial awareness and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders effectively
A proactive, organised and solutions-driven approach to project leadership
Full UK driving licence for site visits
Qualifications:
SMSTS, CSCS (Black Card), First Aid and Temporary Works Coordinator certifications
Degree in Construction Management or related discipline (preferred)
Chartered status (MCIOB, RICS) desirable but not essential
