About the Role
The Environment Agency is seeking a highly organised and proactive Administrative Officer / Project Support Officer to join its Future Frameworks Team within the Commercial and Framework Management function.
This role will provide vital administrative and project support across a programme of framework renewal projects, helping to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and effectively. The successful candidate will work closely with project teams, supporting governance activities, coordinating meetings and events, maintaining project documentation, and managing collaboration tools such as SharePoint and Microsoft Teams.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administrative experience who enjoys working in a structured project environment and can confidently manage a varied workload.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the effective organisation and delivery of meetings, including Project Boards.
- Coordinate agendas, board papers, presentations and meeting documentation.
- Produce accurate minutes and maintain action logs.
- Plan and coordinate project activities, including workshops, tender evaluations, training events, co-location days and framework roll-out activities.
- Support the development of training materials and guidance documents.
- Maintain project management tools including action logs and RAID logs.
- Prepare, format and manage project documentation, including combining Word documents and creating PDFs.
- Provide communications support by drafting and distributing communication materials and maintaining engagement records.
- Support records management activities across project teams.
- Provide support and administration for Microsoft Teams and SharePoint.
- Act as Site Owner for SharePoint sites, managing permissions, site structure, content updates and user support.
About the Team
The Commercial and Framework Management Team provides a range of specialist services including Operational Commercial Services, Framework Management, Future Framework Provision, Should Cost and Benchmarking Intelligence, and a Centre of Excellence.
The Future Frameworks Team works closely with Defra Group Commercial to develop and procure operational frameworks that enable the delivery of the Environment Agency's asset management programme through its supply chain.
About You
We are looking for candidates who have experience working in a project support, project administration or administrative role within a structured environment.
You will have:
- Excellent organisational and planning skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- The ability to prioritise work and meet tight deadlines.
- A proactive and self-motivated approach.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working collaboratively with a range of teams and stakeholders.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience using Microsoft Teams and SharePoint.
Desirable Skills
- Previous experience supporting projects or programme delivery.
- Experience managing action logs, RAID logs or similar project controls.
- SharePoint Site Owner or administration experience.
- Strong Excel skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Additional Information
This is a remote role; however, occasional travel to meetings, team events and co-location days will be required. Travel expenses will be reimbursed in line with policy.
Equipment will be provided and delivered to your home address. The hiring manager will arrange for you to attend your nearest office on your first day for an initial meet and greet.
