Streetworks Inspector

Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Streetworks Inspector to join their Regeneration, Enterprise and Skills Transportation division on a contract basis. This role involves providing guidance and support in accordance with the New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA) and the Traffic Management Act (TMA) legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate street works and provide relevant technical advice on street work licences.
• Offer EToN support and data plotting.
• Assist in drafting Temporary Traffic Orders for utility works.
• Monitor street works compliance with statutory obligations, including Section 81 NRSWA (defective apparatus).
• Oversee defect inspections and manage associated charges and dispute resolutions.
• Maintain the Electronic Street Works Register database (Symology) and manage data input and extraction.
• Produce regular reports related to the NRSWA, including sample, defect, section 74 and lane rental charges.
• Support financial reconciliation by raising draft invoices and preparing invoice statements for charges incurred by works promoters.
• Assist in monitoring revenue expenditure and income related to NRSWA and the London Permit Scheme.

Job Requirements:

• Experience in streetworks coordination and compliance with NRSWA legislation.
• Proficiency in using Symology and understanding of EToN systems.
• Ability to produce technical and non-technical reports related to streetworks.
• Strong organisational skills to manage data and maintain accurate records.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of liaising with internal teams, external parties, and handling enquiries effectively.
• Understanding of financial tracking and reconciliation processes associated with streetworks.
