About the role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Streetworks Inspector to join their Regeneration, Enterprise and Skills Transportation division on a contract basis. This role involves providing guidance and support in accordance with the New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA) and the Traffic Management Act (TMA) legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate street works and provide relevant technical advice on street work licences.
- Offer EToN support and data plotting.
- Assist in drafting Temporary Traffic Orders for utility works.
- Monitor street works compliance with statutory obligations, including Section 81 NRSWA (defective apparatus).
- Oversee defect inspections and manage associated charges and dispute resolutions.
- Maintain the Electronic Street Works Register database (Symology) and manage data input and extraction.
- Produce regular reports related to the NRSWA, including sample, defect, section 74 and lane rental charges.
- Support financial reconciliation by raising draft invoices and preparing invoice statements for charges incurred by works promoters.
- Assist in monitoring revenue expenditure and income related to NRSWA and the London Permit Scheme.
Job Requirements:
- Experience in streetworks coordination and compliance with NRSWA legislation.
- Proficiency in using Symology and understanding of EToN systems.
- Ability to produce technical and non-technical reports related to streetworks.
- Strong organisational skills to manage data and maintain accurate records.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of liaising with internal teams, external parties, and handling enquiries effectively.
- Understanding of financial tracking and reconciliation processes associated with streetworks.
- Commitment to promoting equal opportunities, customer care, and environmental policies.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to streetworks and public safety.
