The Opportunity
Our client, a well-established precision engineering and manufacturing company based in Portsmouth, is currently seeking an experienced CNC Miller / Setter to join their skilled production team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated machinist who takes pride in producing high-quality precision components and enjoys working within a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities

• Set and operate CNC milling machines
• Manufacture precision engineered components in line with customer specifications and engineering drawings.
• Interpret and work accurately from technical drawings and job instructions.
• Use precision measuring equipment to inspect components and maintain tight tolerances.
• Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to ensure consistent quality output.
• Complete production documentation and quality records accurately.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organised working environment.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues to ensure efficient workflow.

Essential Requirements

• Proven experience as a CNC Miller / Setter.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience using precision measuring instruments.
• Experience with Heidenhain controls is essential.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.

Desirable Skills & Experience

• Experience operating CNC lathes.
• Experience with EDM processes.
• Background in high-precision manufacturing environments.
