Senior Buyer

Our client, a leading organisation in the Defence sector, is looking to bring onboard two experienced Senior Buyer's to support a procurement team during a critical period.

• Role: Senior Buyer (x2)
• Duration: 6-month contract
• Pay: £40 - 45 p/hr (Inside IR35 via Umbrella)
• Location: North Wales (3 days onsite)

This is a results-focused team looking for someone who can hit the ground running. You'll be working directly on challenges that impact customer delivery and business performance, with the autonomy to make decisions and drive positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing a portfolio of suppliers and commodities.
• Driving supplier performance across Quality, Cost and Delivery metrics.
• Resolving material shortages and supply chain disruptions.
• Negotiating pricing, lead times and commercial agreements.
• Working closely with engineering, planning and operations teams.
• Developing supplier improvement plans and corrective actions.
• Supporting supplier rationalisation and long-term sourcing strategies.
• Ensuring materials are delivered in line with MRP and production requirements.

This is an ideal role for hands-on procurement professionals with proven Defence or Aerospace experience who can quickly identify issues, engage suppliers, secure material availability and keep production moving.

Key Requirements:

• Experience within Aerospace, Defence or complex manufacturing environments
• Proven experience as a Buyer, Senior Buyer or similar roles
• Strong experience purchasing components, parts and production materials.
• Demonstrable success resolving supplier performance and availability issues.
• Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and make informed commercial decisions.
• CIPS qualification or equivalent desirable.
• Eligibility to obtain BPSS clearance.
