About the role

Commercial Manager - Central Government - SC Cleared - London Hybrid (3 days onsite)

I have an immediate opportunity for a Commercial Manager to provide robust commercial support, from planning through to contract award, for our central government client.

  • Supporting internal governance processes, including managing approvals and documenting key commercial decisions.
  • Helping to identify, monitor and mitigate commercial risks, including cyber, personnel and physical risks in supply chains.
  • Applying and promoting standards to address corruption, fraud and unethical behaviour, and acting on potential breaches.

What we're looking for

  • Strong commercial experience with a solid understanding of the full commercial and procurement lifecycle.
  • Knowledge or awareness of public procurement regulations and the statutory frameworks that govern public sector buying, e.g. Procurement Act 2023, PcR 2015
  • Proven experience managing end-to-end procurement and selecting appropriate commercial approaches and tools.
  • Confident working with data, with the ability to perform commercial and market analysis and present clear conclusions.
  • Experience operating within a matrix environment, working with multiple teams and priorities.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to tailor style to different audiences and build effective stakeholder relationships.
  • Experience managing or supporting governance processes and commercial risk controls within a category or portfolio.
  • Desirable: experience of international finance programmes and development finance procurement, including assessing financial and contractual risk and advising stakeholders on complex, high-risk funding or investment models.
