About the role
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Packing / Dispatch FLT Operator to join our warehouse and logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating a forklift truck (FLT), preparing products for dispatch, loading and unloading vehicles, and ensuring customer orders are accurately picked, packed and dispatched on time.
Shifts and pay rates:
Monday to Friday: 07:00-16:30 ( Fridays early finish)
£14.00 per hour
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate FLT equipment in accordance with company procedures and current training/certification.
- Pick, move and position stock within the warehouse and dispatch areas.
- Load and unload delivery vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Prepare goods for dispatch, including packing, wrapping, labelling and securing loads.
- Check products and quantities against delivery notes, picking lists and dispatch documentation.
- Ensure goods are correctly identified and ready for collection or delivery.
- Maintain accurate stock movements and report any discrepancies or damaged goods.
- Keep the warehouse, packing and dispatch areas clean, organised and safe.
- Follow all company health & safety procedures and manual-handling requirements.
- Carry out routine checks of FLT equipment and report any faults immediately.
- Work closely with warehouse, production and transport teams to meet dispatch deadlines.
- Assist with general warehouse duties when required.
- Ensure customer orders are handled with care and dispatched to the required standard.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Current FLT experience and relevant certification/licence.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, packing or dispatch environment.
- Good understanding of warehouse health and safety procedures.
- Ability to work accurately and meet deadlines.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Physically fit and comfortable working in a busy warehouse environment.
- Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team.
