About the role

Pupil Engagement Mentor – Specialist SEMH School
Guildford, Surrey
£110+ per day | Monday to Friday | Term Time Only | Temp-to-Perm Opportunities
Are you passionate about helping young people build confidence, overcome barriers and engage positively with education?
Pink Tile Education is recruiting Pupil Engagement Mentors to join a specialist SEMH school in Guildford. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building strong relationships with young people and helping them feel safe, supported and ready to learn.
The role is less focused on traditional classroom teaching and more about engagement, relationships and emotional support, making it ideal for candidates from education, youth work, care, coaching or support backgrounds.
The Role

Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis.
Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
Encouraging engagement, confidence and independence.
Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
Helping pupils access learning and participate in school life.
Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff to meet individual needs.
Providing a calm, structured and supportive presence throughout the school day.

About You
We’re looking for someone who is:

Experienced working with children or young people, particularly those with SEMH, SEND or behavioural needs.
Calm, patient and resilient.
Confident managing challenging behaviour and supporting emotional regulation.
A strong communicator who can build genuine relationships.
Passionate about making a positive difference to young people’s lives.
A full UK driving licence holder with access to a vehicle, due to the school’s remote location.

Experience in education, youth work, residential care, support work, coaching or similar settings would be highly desirable.
Why This Role?
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a genuine difference to young people without the role being centred around traditional teaching. You’ll be supporting pupils to overcome barriers, build confidence and make positive progress both in and out of the classroom.
