Introduction

Acorn by Synergie is currently recruiting Refuse Loaders to work on behalf of a local council in Newton Abbot.

This is a great opportunity for a Refuse Loader, Waste Operative, Recycling Operative, Refuse Collector or Street Sweeper to join a friendly team working outdoors across the local area, with the potential for permanent positions for the right candidates.

What We Offer

• £12.85 per hour.
• Overtime paid at 1.5x after 37 hours.
• Monday to Friday working.
• 6:00am starts, with finish times varying depending on workload.
• Normally around 7.5 hours per day.
• Bank holidays off.
• Occasional Saturday work may be required.

The Role

As a Refuse Loader, you will be responsible for collecting household waste and recycling from properties across the local districts.

Your duties will include:

• Collecting and emptying household bins.
• Completing recycling collections.
• Carrying out street sweeping.
• Working as part of a team to complete daily collection routes.
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.

Requirements

This role is physically demanding and would suit someone who enjoys working outdoors and is comfortable with an active role.

You will be required to:

• Handle waste and recycling, including unsanitary materials.
• Be on your feet and physically active throughout the working day.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Start work early and maintain good attendance and reliability.
• Work effectively as part of a team.
