We are seeking an Electrical & Electronic Engineer to support the design, development and ongoing improvement of industrial products. This is an opportunity to work across the full product lifecycle, from concept and specification through to testing, validation and manufacturing support.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Development
- Develop technical specifications and translate customer requirements into engineering solutions.
- Design, develop and test electrical and electronic systems, including hardware and firmware.
- Write, test and debug embedded software using C/C++ or similar languages.
- Produce schematics, wiring diagrams and PCB designs.
- Perform system simulations, testing and validation activities.
- Support prototype development and field testing.
Project Delivery
- Manage technical work packages and deliver projects to agreed timescales.
- Report project progress to stakeholders.
- Participate in design reviews, risk assessments and FMEA activities.
- Take technical ownership of electrical and control systems through development stages.
Collaboration & Support
- Work closely with mechanical engineering, manufacturing and product management teams.
- Support manufacturing, operations and after-sales functions.
- Collaborate with customers and suppliers on product development projects.
- Mentor and support junior engineers where required.
Compliance & Quality
- Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation, validation plans and specifications.
- Drive product improvements to enhance performance, reliability and cost effectiveness.
Skills & Experience
- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in electrical/electronic product development.
- Experience delivering products from concept through to production.
- Knowledge of embedded systems and microcontroller-based design.
- Experience with embedded programming (C/C++ or similar).
- Experience with circuit design, PCB design and simulation software.
- Strong fault-finding, testing and debugging capabilities.
- Experience with laboratory test equipment such as oscilloscopes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
