Fitter – Livingston 

People Solutions are currently recruiting for Furniture Fitters to join our client based in Livingston, working on new school and office building sites.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work and is happy working as part of a team. The role will involve travelling to various sites to help deliver, move, assemble and install furniture.

Shifts: Monday to Friday: 7.30am starts (Starting September)

Rates of Pay: £13.00 per hour

Day-to-Day Duties:

Your duties as a Furniture Fitter will include:

• Travelling to various school and office building sites
• Driving company vehicles to and from sites
• Loading, unloading and moving furniture safely
• Assembling and installing flat-packed and pre-built furniture
• Using basic hand tools to assemble and install furniture
• Working efficiently to meet site deadlines
• Following site instructions and Health & Safety procedures
• Keeping work areas clean, tidy and safe
• Supporting with other tasks as required on site

Essential Skills:

The skills required as a Furniture Fitter are:

• A full UK driving licence
• Previous hands-on, assembly, warehouse, trade or site experience
• Comfortable using basic hand tools
• Physically fit and comfortable with lifting and moving furniture
• Reliable, hardworking and willing to get stuck in
• Good teamwork and communication skills
• Able to follow instructions and work to deadlines

Desirable Experience:

• Previous furniture assembly, installation, construction, warehouse or site experience would be advantageous.
• A valid CSCS card would also be beneficial but is not essential.

Training:

• Full paid site induction and on-the-job training will be provided.
• Ongoing support will be available throughout the assignment.
