Accounts Payable Manager

Accounts Payable Manager – Up to £45,000 + Benefits – Manchester – Hybrid

Partnering with VHFR, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Payable Manager to join an innovative, hugely diverse and well-known organisation.

Based in the Manchester Business Service Centre (BSC), this is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Accounts Payable professional to lead a high-performing team, drive process improvements and ensure a strong control environment across the AP function.

Responsibilities include:

• Previous Accounts Payable leadership/management experience essential.
• Lead, manage and develop the Accounts Payable team, ensuring a high level of performance and service delivery.
• Support, develop and empower the team in line with best practice.
• Oversee the end-to-end Accounts Payable process, ensuring invoices and payments are processed accurately and efficiently.
• Ensure robust controls are maintained across the AP function.
• Monitor AP performance, KPIs and SLAs, identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders and business partners to resolve issues and improve processes.
• Identify and implement process improvements and efficiencies across Accounts Payable.
• Support the business through change and transformation initiatives.
• Provide insightful analysis and reporting on AP performance.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, controls and relevant accounting requirements.
• Manage escalations and build strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

Key skills required:

• Previous Accounts Payable Management experience.
• Strong team leadership and people management skills.
• Experience managing and motivating teams through change and transformation.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end Accounts Payable processes.
• Experience within a shared service environment would be advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of AP controls, processes and best practice.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Experience of process improvement / continuous improvement.
• Strong Excel and finance systems experience.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
