Our client is a newly established UK contract recruitment specialist focused on Commissioning, EC&I and Engineering support across onshore industrial projects.

The business supplies experienced engineering professionals at the most critical stages of project delivery – including pre-commissioning, energisation, testing, shutdown and handover.

Backed by an established recruitment group, the company is looking for an experienced Lead Recruitment Consultant to develop its Commissioning & Engineering recruitment operation, grow its client base and ultimately build and lead a specialist recruitment team.

This is more than a traditional billing role. As the business grows, there is the opportunity to progress towards Managing Director, participate in net profits and potentially share in the long-term value of the company.

• Industrial Manufacturing & Process
• Data Centres
• Onshore Oil & Gas
• Nuclear & Regulated Sites

Clients include EPC contractors, system integrators, engineering delivery teams and specialist commissioning contractors requiring experienced professionals for technically demanding project environments.

The recruitment focus includes:

• Commissioning Engineers
• Commissioning Managers
• Electrical Commissioning Engineers
• EC&I Engineers
• Electrical Engineers
• Control Systems / PLC / DCS Engineers
• Instrumentation Engineers & Technicians
• C&I / EC&I Technicians
• Pre-Commissioning Technicians

The Role

You will take a hands-on role developing the Commissioning & Engineering recruitment market, with considerable autonomy to shape and grow the business.

You will:

• Develop new contract recruitment business.
• Build relationships with EPCs, engineering contractors, system integrators and end clients.
• Identify upcoming commissioning and engineering requirements.
• Develop specialist contractor networks.
• Manage recruitment from business development through to placement and mobilisation.
• Develop key accounts and long-term client relationships.
• Identify new sectors and commercial opportunities.
• Recruit and build a team as the business grows.

Although this is a newly established specialist business, you won’t be starting from scratch.

The company is backed by an established recruitment group providing the infrastructure and back-office support required to grow, including:

• Marketing and brand support
• Recruitment technology and CRM
• Accounting
• Client invoicing
• Contractor payroll
• Administration and operational support

This allows you to concentrate on winning clients, developing contractor relationships, making placements and building the business.

The package includes:

Basic salary up to £70,000
Uncapped commission

The longer-term structure will remain flexible and develop around the successful individual, the growth of the company and the value they create.

About You

You don’t need to be a Managing Director today.

You could currently be a Senior Recruitment Consultant, Principal Consultant, Lead Consultant, Managing Consultant, Recruitment Manager or Divisional Manager looking for the opportunity to take the next step.

We are particularly interested in recruiters with experience across Commissioning, EC&I, Electrical, Controls, Instrumentation or closely aligned Engineering markets.

You will ideally have:

• A successful recruitment track record.
• Experience recruiting within Commissioning, EC&I or Engineering.
• Contract recruitment experience.
• Strong business development skills.
• Experience winning and developing client accounts.
• An understanding of the engineering contractor market.
• An entrepreneurial and commercially driven approach.
• The ambition to build and lead a recruitment team.
