About the role
Job Title: Payroll Consultant Location: England, remote with occasional travel to Manchester or Nottingham Day Rate: £500 to £550 per day (Inside IR35) Contract: Initial 3-month contractAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Payroll Consultant to join a global professional services business on an initial 3-month contract.This role will play a key part in supporting payroll transformation and change initiatives, working closely with internal stakeholders and outsourced payroll providers to ensure payroll operations are efficient, accurate, and fit for the future.This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional who combines strong operational expertise with project and systems experience.Key Responsibilities of the Payroll Consultant:
Lead and support payroll transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.Manage end-to-end payroll processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery.Work closely with outsourced payroll providers to improve service delivery and resolve complex payroll issues.Support payroll implementation projects, including process design, testing, and go-live activities.Provide expertise on payroll system enhancements and configuration, particularly within iTrent.Review and improve payroll processes, controls, and documentation. • Work collaboratively with HR, Finance, IT, and external partners to deliver payroll projects.Identify risks, recommend solutions, and support successful project delivery.
Candidate Profile
Proven experience managing end-to-end payroll within a large, complex organisation.Strong background delivering payroll transformation or payroll change projects. • Previous experience supporting payroll implementations.Hands-on experience working with outsourced payroll providers.Strong knowledge of iTrent payroll systems is essential.Excellent understanding of payroll legislation, controls, and best practice.Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across multiple functions.Comfortable working in a fast-paced project environment and managing competing priorities.Available to start immediately
