Role: QA & Technical Coordinator
Location: Uckfield, East Sussex
Hours: Full-time
Pay: £30,000 – £35,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications
Contract: Permanent

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a QA & Technical Coordinator to join one of our clients, an established and growing specialist business based in Uckfield.

This is a hands-on technical and quality role where you will take responsibility for maintaining high standards of quality, compliance and documentation. You will work across both the operational and technical sides of the business, supporting audits, food safety processes and continuous improvement while receiving guidance and mentorship from an experienced senior team.

The position offers genuine long-term development, with the opportunity to take on increasing technical responsibility and progress towards a Technical Manager position.

The Requirements

• Previous experience within QA, technical coordination, specifications or a similar role
• Experience within food manufacturing, ingredients or a related environment
• Good understanding of HACCP, food safety and quality management systems
• Knowledge of BRCGS standards
• Previous audit experience would be highly advantageous
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Confident and professional communication skills
• Comfortable communicating with customers and colleagues
• Able to work effectively both within an operational environment and at a desk
• Positive, proactive and hands-on approach
• Ability to work effectively as part of a small, collaborative team

The Role

• Carry out day-to-day quality checks and site inspections
• Maintain accurate quality records and technical documentation
• Support and assist with internal and external audits, including BRCGS
• Monitor Critical Control Points and ensure HACCP procedures are followed
• Raise, investigate and follow up on non-conformances
• Manage customer and supplier specifications
• Support product compliance and labelling activities
• Assist with continuous improvement initiatives
• Respond to customer technical enquiries professionally and efficiently
• Coordinate development samples and customer projects
• Maintain accurate customer information and CRM records
• Work closely with senior management on technical and quality matters
• Provide wider support to the team when required
