Job Title: CCTV Engineer
Location: Portsmouth
Length: Approximately 1–2 weeks
Rate: £275 per day

Are you a CCTV Engineer based in Portsmouth looking for your next contract opportunity? As a CCTV Engineer, you will be responsible for the second-fix installation, configuration, testing and commissioning of IP CCTV systems, working across residential and commercial sites to deliver high-quality security solutions. You will be joining an established company with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality fire and security solutions to its customers.

Responsibilities:

* Install and replace external bullet cameras and internal dome cameras as part of a full CCTV upgrade project.
* Install and connect NVRs, network switches and CCTV monitors, ensuring all equipment is correctly terminated and configured.
* Test camera coverage, recording, playback and network connectivity to confirm system performance.
* Complete system commissioning and identify and resolve any installation or commissioning faults.
* Maintain a clean, safe working environment in line with site requirements throughout the project.
* Liaise professionally with the site team, providing progress updates and completing all relevant commissioning and handover documentation.

Experience and Certifications required:

* Proven experience as a CCTV Installation or Commissioning Engineer, with hands-on experience of second-fix installation and commissioning.
* Experience installing and configuring IP CCTV systems, including NVRs, network switches and monitors.
* Ability to fault-find and resolve installation and commissioning issues on site.
* Full UK driving licence and own hand tools, power tools and laptop required.
* ECS Card required.
* FIA or BTEC Level 3 in Fire, Emergency and Security Systems (desirable).
