Process Team Leader
Are you an experienced Process Team Leader/Supervisor with a passion for safety, operational excellence and developing people?This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking business where you'll play a key role in ensuring safe, reliable and efficient plant operations while leading and developing a high-performing operations team.As Process Team Leader, you will take ownership of your shift, ensuring production targets are achieved safely, efficiently and in line with our SHEQ standards. You'll lead by example, creating a culture where safety, teamwork and continuous improvement are at the heart of everything you do.Working closely with Maintenance, Tank Operations, Quality and SHE teams, you'll coordinate plant activities, resolve operational issues and drive improvements that enhance performance and reliability. Key Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate the safe and efficient operation of your Plant Area/Unit during your shift.Drive production performance while achieving key operational KPIs.Champion a strong safety culture, ensuring full compliance with SHEQ standards and Safe Systems of Work.Promote excellent housekeeping standards and ensure all safety observations, incidents and actions are recorded.Troubleshoot process issues, identify root causes and work collaboratively to minimise downtime.Produce accurate shift reports, operating logs and comprehensive verbal and written handovers.Coach, mentor and develop Operators and Senior Operators through effective on-the-job training.Ensure preventative maintenance activities are completed safely and in accordance with planned schedules.Coordinate mandatory training with the Learning & Development team to maintain workforce competence.Manage attendance, holidays, performance reviews and employee development, working closely with HR where required.Build strong working relationships across Operations, Maintenance, Tank Operations, Quality and SHE to ensure seamless plant performance.Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, reliability, quality and operational efficiency.
You'll be a confident leader with excellent technical knowledge of chemical processing operations and a genuine commitment to developing people and creating a positive safety culture. Essential Experience & Skills
Proven experience within chemical manufacturing, process manufacturing or related continuous process industries.At least 3–5 years' operational experience, including 1–2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.Strong understanding of chemical process operations, including troubleshooting and process optimisation.Experience working with process equipment including pumps, compressors, reactors and heat exchangers.Thorough understanding and practical application of Safe Systems of Work.Sound knowledge of SHE legislation and process safety principles.Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and influence teams.Calm decision-maker who performs well under pressure.Practical, collaborative and solution-focused approach.Passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence.Relevant technical qualifications or process operations and safety certifications.
