English Teacher – Secondary School – DN4 

A secondary school in the DN4 area is looking for an enthusiastic English Teacher to join their team from September 2026. This is a long-term opportunity working with KS3 and KS4 students in a supportive secondary setting. The successful applicant will be expected to deliver engaging English lessons, support students to make strong progress and help develop their confidence in reading, writing and wider English skills.

What We’re Looking For:

• QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
• Previous experience teaching English within a secondary school
• Confidence teaching KS3 and KS4 with a good understanding of the English curriculum
• Strong classroom management skills
• Ability to engage and motivate students
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging English lessons
• Support pupils with a range of abilities
• Monitor progress and provide constructive feedback
• Maintain a positive learning environment
• Work closely with colleagues within the English department
• Support wider school priorities where required
