About the role
We are delighted to be partnering on an exclusive basis with our client, Fosters Events on the appointment of a Head of Operations Rewards & Benefits Location – M4/M5 (Bristol, Bath, Wiltshire, Devon) Up to £65,000 Car Allowance Healthcare Performance related bonus This is a pivotal senior leadership role within a fast-moving, entrepreneurial hospitality business with ambitious 3–5 year growth plans. You will work directly alongside the CEO, leading operational excellence across our exclusive venue contracts and high-profile events while supporting new business tendering, mobilisation and long-term strategic growth. Fosters Events Fosters is a privately owned hospitality business specialising in public retail catering at high-profile, high-volume leisure and heritage attractions. Our long-term exclusive contracts include: Bristol Zoo Project Westonbirt Arboretum Aerospace Bristol Haldon Forest Park Bath Rugby Alongside this, we deliver high-end, high-volume outside catering events. The Role This role blends strategic leadership with active operational execution. You will be visible across sites, working directly with: Venue clients Site General Managers and Head Chefs Visitors and event guests Suppliers and partners Central support teams You will take full accountability for financial performance, operational delivery, people development and compliance — ensuring we consistently deliver and surpass both Fosters and client KPIs. There is genuine scope for progression as the business continues to grow. Key Responsibilities Financial & CommercialFull P&L accountability across exclusive contracts and events (£7m+), driving labour control, food GP performance, sales forecasting and event costings. Lead client financial reviews and develop 1, 3 and 5-year strategic plans alongside the CEO. People & LeadershipInspire, develop and performance-manage multi-site teams, building strong succession plans and a motivated, high-performing culture. Lead visibly and with integrity. OperationsDeliver excellence across all venues and events, continuously improving processes, driving efficiencies and ensuring full food safety and legal compliance. Sales & GrowthSupport tendering and mobilisation of new business, collaborate on marketing initiatives and represent the business at key industry events. CommunicationLead senior operational meetings, maintain strong client engagement and professionally manage escalated issues. The Candidate We are looking for a personable, energetic and commercially driven hospitality leader who thrives both autonomously and within a senior team. Essential: Regional operational management experience Multi-site retail & event catering background Full P&L accountability in a £7m+ business Experience using labour and stock management software Strong leadership and communication skills Clean driving licence Highly presentable and client-facing confidence Desirable: Senior Chef background transitioned into operations Experience within contracted or franchised venue environments Degree educated Food Safety Level 3+ The current postholder leaves after six successful years due to relocation overseas — leaving behind a strong foundation and an exciting platform for the next leader.
