Duty Manager – Gastro Pub, Somerset Are you passionate about community, hospitality, and creating a welcoming space for all? A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our thriving, village pub in Somerset as a Duty Manager. This role is offering a competitive salary of £30,000 depending on experience About Us Our pub is more than just a place for a drink – it’s the heart of the village. With a strong local following and a destination, high-end restaurant, we offer a unique experience that blends a traditional pub atmosphere with a sophisticated dining experience. Working for an independent business offering a small collection of sites across the Taunton/Somerset area this role offers the opportunity for longer term development within the group. The Role As a Duty Manager, you will work closely with the General Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the pub. You’ll play a key role in ensuring our customers receive excellent service, while also helping to develop new opportunities to enhance the business, in particular it's food offer and events. Key Responsibilities: Supporting the General Manager with daily operations, including bar & restaurant service, stock management, and staff coordination. Taking a lead in restaurant service standards ensuring team training and customer experience. Exploring opportunities for outside dining and events in our spacious pub garden. Maintaining excellent customer service standards and ensuring a warm, welcoming atmosphere for all. What We’re Looking For: Previous experience in hospitality, ideally in a supervisory or management role Experience at working in a fresh food environment, ideally to rosette standard Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work alongside a large team and as part of the village community A hands-on approach and willingness to get involved in all aspects of the business.
