Assistant Manager – Multi-faceted Restaurant Venue

My client operates a diverse portfolio of established hospitality, retail, leisure and accommodation businesses in a stunning part of South Devon.   We are recruiting an Assistant Manager join them in their stylish multi-faceted restaurant, bar and take-away right on the picturesque harbourside. Rewards & Benefits Very competitive dependent on experience Good quality permanent accommodation in the town available Lucrative tronc scheme Regular renumeration reviews Career development opportunity The Role This new role will work closely with the Restaurant Manager and Senior Leadership team in ensuring all aspects of this fast paced and multi-unit operation runs smoothly and effectively throughout the year.  The role will include but is not limited to: Supporting in overseeing the day-to-day operation, ensuring the highest level of customer service and guest interaction. Working closely with the kitchen team to ensure that great quality products and dishes are serviced across the business. Coming up with creative ideas to continue to develop the business, working closely with the marketing team to broaden the customer base through the year. Maximising profit by controlling costs and wastage. Training the team, ensuring regular reviews and personal development plans are in place.  Working to budgets and be able to forecast sales and control operating and labour costs. The Candidate To be considered for this role you will most importantly will demonstrate a real passion for the hospitality sector and be flexible in your approach and enjoying working as part of a team.  The following skills would be desirable: A good management or supervisory background in a good food and beverage operation which is busy, as high volume is key to this role. A good food and beverage knowledge A real focus on detail and service culture An understanding of restaurant booking systems and how to maximise revenue through these. Good hygiene qualifications.
