About the Role
We are looking for motivated and customer-focused individuals to join our Financial Assessment Team as a Financial Assessment Caseworker.
As a Financial Assessment Caseworker, you will help work out how much people need to pay towards their care and support. You will manage your own cases, gather financial information and complete assessments. You will also explain decisions clearly to customers and their representatives.
You will work with Adult Social Care colleagues to carry out financial assessments and support people through the process. You will ensure assessments are accurate, fair and completed on time. As your knowledge and confidence grow, you will have opportunities to take on more complex work.
This is a career graded opportunity, starting at Finance Assistant (G4) and progressing to Finance Technician (G5) as you develop your knowledge, skills and experience. We will support you through learning and development, helping you build the expertise needed to progress within the role.

About the Service
The Financial Assessment Team helps work out how much people need to contribute towards the cost of their care and support. We work closely with Adult Social Care, residents and their representatives to make sure assessments are fair, accurate and completed on time. The team deals with a wide range of cases, from simple assessments to more complex financial situations. As part of the team, you will help people understand their care charges and support the council to meet its responsibilities under the Care Act 2014.
