About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to lead a key area of Adult Social Care and make a lasting difference to how people experience support in Dudley.
We are looking for an exceptional Adult Social Care Lead – Promoting Independence, Choice and Control to drive high-quality, person-centred assessment and support planning. This is your chance to shape services that put people firmly in control of their lives—supporting them to make informed choices, achieve their goals and maximise their independence.
As part of the senior leadership team, reporting to the Associate Director, you will lead the development of outstanding practice across Adult Social Care. You will champion strengths-based approaches that recognise people’s abilities, networks and aspirations—ensuring support is tailored, responsive and focused on what matters most.
You will play a critical role in driving innovation in how assessments are delivered, embedding a culture of continuous learning and supporting practitioners to deliver consistently high standards.
In this role, you will:
- Lead and shape high-quality assessment and support planning services
- Champion choice, control and personalised approaches across Adult Social Care
- Drive strengths-based practice that promotes independence and wellbeing
- Support the development of skilled, confident practitioners through learning and reflection
- Lead the development of self-directed support, including direct payments
- Build strong relationships with commissioning, providers and partners
- Deliver innovative approaches that reduce reliance on long-term care
