Senior Support Worker

Location: Leicester
Salary: Up to £36,000 OTE (including sleep-ins) – negotiable for the right person
Contract: Full-time, 40 hours per week

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Support Worker to join a dedicated residential childcare team supporting children and young people in a safe, nurturing, and structured environment.

The Role

• Starting salary from £28,080 per annum, with additional earnings through sleep-ins

• Sleep-ins paid at £50 per shift (approximately 8 per month)

• Up to £36,000 OTE, depending on experience and qualifications

• Shift pattern: 1 day on, followed by 2 days off

• Driving is a key part of the role, including motorway and night driving

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, child-centred care in line with care plans and policies

• Act as a senior member of the team, supporting and mentoring Support Workers

• Lead shifts and support the smooth day-to-day running of the home

• Promote safeguarding, positive behaviour support, and trauma-informed practice

• Support children with education, appointments, and community activities

• Contribute to supervision, record keeping, and preparation for Ofsted inspections

What We’re Looking For

• Level 3 or 4 qualification in Residential Childcare – Essential

• Previous experience working as a Senior Support Worker in a children’s residential setting

• Strong knowledge of safeguarding, Ofsted regulations, inspections, supervision, and whistleblowing

• Full UK manual driving licence and confidence driving, including motorways and at night

• Clean enhanced DBS
