Nursery Deputy Room Manager

Location: Hither Green, South East London
Salary: £31,500 (dependent on experience)

Joneshouse is recruiting for a well-established, high-quality private day nursery in South East London. We are seeking a confident and passionate Deputy Room Manager to join our dedicated team.

This role is ideal for an experienced Senior Practitioner or Room Leader who is ready to take the next step in their career. Due to the size of our setting, the successful candidate will support leadership within the room while remaining hands-on in day-to-day practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Room Manager in the daily running of the room

• Lead by example, ensuring high standards of care and education

• Work collaboratively with the team to deliver the EYFS effectively

• Build strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues

• Support and mentor staff within the room

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Hold a Level 3 childcare qualification

• Have a strong understanding of the EYFS and how to apply it in practice

• Have a minimum of 12 months’ experience working within a childcare setting

• Be passionate, caring, and empathetic when working with children

• Have previous experience with Ofsted inspections (desirable but not essential)

• Be confident taking on leadership responsibilities
