A programme with serious scale.Morson Edge is recruiting Skilled Fitters to support a major aerospace manufacturing programme in Western Approach, Bristol.This is an opportunity to join one of the UK’s largest aircraft structures programmes, working within a highly skilled production environment where precision, quality, and teamwork are at the centre of everything produced.The Core Days / Core Nights shift pattern provides an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a major Aerospace manufacturing environment, with the potential to move onto the core night shift following training.Shift PatternTraining (around 2 weeks) – Core DaysMonday – Friday: 07:00 – 15:00Paid at £19.16 per hour.Core NightsMonday – Wednesday: 20:00 – 06:00Thursday: 19:00 – 04:309.5 hours paid per night, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch.The RoleYou will operate as a multi-skilled Aircraft Fitter carrying out structural assembly activities on metallic aircraft components within a wing assembly environment. All successful candidates will complete a composite structures trade test onsite covering drilling, riveting, countersinking, and bolting.Key ResponsibilitiesPercussion rivetingDrill, ream, and countersink panels using Vanmar toolingSet structures within build jigsDeburr aircraft structuresFettle components using approved setting toolsCarry out localised treatment touch-up on aluminium structuresOperate CNC pillar drills (DONAU)Ensure right-first-time quality standardsComplete work phase clearance through SAPHighlight non-conformances to the Process Team LeaderMaintain high housekeeping and safety standardsRequirementsLevel 3 indentured apprenticeship in a relevant disciplineORNVQ Level 2 with 3–5 years Aerospace experienceExperiencePrevious aircraft production or aerospace manufacturing experienceAbility to work to standard operating proceduresComfortable working within small teamsKnowledge of Lean Manufacturing principlesStrong communication skillsSelf-motivated and quality focusedTrade TestCandidates will be required to attend a metallic structures trade test onsite covering:DrillingRivetingCountersinkingBoltingThe SettingLarge-scale aircraft structures programmeLong-term contract opportunityStrong earning potentialEstablished Aerospace manufacturing environmentModern production facilitiesProfessional and supportive team cultureA stronger rate.A smarter shift.A programme built for the long haul.If you’re an experienced Aerospace Fitter looking for a contract that offers both earning potential and stability, this is one to consider.
