EYFS Class Teacher – Rochester

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic EYFS Class Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Higham from September 2026.

This is a part-time opportunity (0.5 FTE), working as part of a job-share arrangement within the Early Years Foundation Stage team. The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues to deliver engaging and inspiring learning experiences, supporting children to achieve their full potential during this important stage of their education.

This role would be particularly well suited to an Early Career Teacher (ECT) or a teacher looking to further develop their experience within an EYFS setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality learning experiences in line with the EYFS Framework.
  • Create a nurturing, stimulating and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Support children’s academic, social and emotional development.
  • Assess, monitor and record pupil progress effectively.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching colleagues as part of a job-share arrangement.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and carers.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school and support school initiatives.
  • Maintain high expectations for learning, behaviour and achievement.

Candidate Requirements

Essential

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • A passion for Early Years education and child development.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to create engaging and inclusive learning experiences.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Desirable

• Experience teaching within an EYFS setting.
  • Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are encouraged to apply.
  • Knowledge of current EYFS curriculum and assessment practices.
