Job Overview
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Registered General Nurses to join our specialist medical healthcare team, covering Cardiff and the surrounding areas. Including available shifts in Swansea, Newport, Bridgend and RCT. In these vital roles, you will provide high-quality patient care, support recovery, and promote well-being across Private Sector Nursing Homes and Care Homes in South Wales.
Your expertise will help ensure elderly patients receive safe, effective, and personalized nursing services. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of Nursing Home residents while working within a dynamic, caring and supportive environment.
Duties
* Deliver comprehensive patient care by assessing needs, planning treatments, and monitoring progress to ensure optimal health outcomes, working closely with permanent staff in a helpful, harmonious fashion.
* Administer medications accurately and safely in accordance with prescribed instructions and established protocols of the home itself.
* Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, documenting observations, treatments, and responses to care as and when required whether night or day.
* Support patients with daily activities, including hygiene, mobility, and nutritional needs, fostering comfort and dignity at all times.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to each patient’s condition.
* Educate patients and their families about health management, medication use and close care while visiting / communicating.
* Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, infection control standards, and safety procedures at all times
Requirements
* UK resident for the past 6 months. No sponsorships available from overseas.
* UK Registration as a Registered General Nurse (RGN) with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) essential for these roles.
* Proven experience in patient care within the UK from Band 5 upwards. 6 months plus as a Registered Nurse would be the standard we'd expect.
* Enhanced DBS Updated. If not in place we can help you secure one at a cost to yourself.
* Full Right to Work Check required (Passport, Right to Work Share Code)
* Online Training Packages either undertaken and evident, or Med Team can provide you with these packages for no extra charge to yourself to ensure your compliance.
* Driving licence with vehicle would be an added advantage, especially in respect to travel to more remote homes with little travel links available.
Skills
* Strong knowledge of human anatomy and physiology to inform effective nursing practices, especially in the fields of dementia and conditions that elderly residents.
* Competence in medication administration with attention to detail and safety protocols and the ability to report clearly and concisely.
* Excellent communication skills to interact empathetically with patients, families, and healthcare colleagues, as well as a calm, patient, approachable manner.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team in fast-paced environments, and in harmony with the permanent staff in situ.
