Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and schedule vehicle movements to ensure deliveries and collections are completed safely and on time.
- Monitor daily transport plans and make adjustments where required.
- Communicate effectively with drivers and customers regarding transport schedules and requirements.
- Monitor vehicle movements and update internal systems with real-time transport information.
- Resolve route, timing and other operational issues quickly and effectively.
- Ensure transport activities are carried out in accordance with relevant UK transport regulations, health and safety standards and company procedures.
- Support effective fleet utilisation and vehicle planning.
- Work closely with warehouse and operations teams to optimise load planning and transport efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure transport information is kept up to date.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on service levels, efficiency and safety.
Key Skills & Experience Required:
- Previous experience within a transport, logistics or distribution environment, with experience coordinating vehicle movements and delivery timelines
- Confident managing multiple transport requirements and prioritising workloads effectively.
- Good understanding of transport legislation, operational procedures and workplace safety.
- Comfortable working with transport systems and general IT packages, including Microsoft Office.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive working relationships with drivers, customers and colleagues.
- A practical and solutions-focused approach to resolving day-to-day operational challenges.
- Highly organised, reliable and able to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable working to tight timescales and adapting to changing priorities.
- A positive, hands-on attitude with a genuine commitment to delivering a high level of service.
