About the role

We are seeking to appoint 2 Family Hub Infant Feeding Support Workers, based in Central and South East Northumberland, 1 in West Northumberland and 1 fixed term (maternity cover) position based in the Central and South East area until end of May 2027.All positions are for 22.5 hours. This is an exciting time for Northumberland as we are part of the national Family Hub Programme and one of the focus areas is Infant Feeding. The principles of the Family Hub development are, that we will be more accessible to families, better connected to drive progress on joining up and providing a whole family approach.Family Hubs offer services, universal and targeted for 0–19-year-olds (and up to 25 for young people with SEND), providing a network of co-located, connected, virtual and digital services to support families through various interventions and programmes. These posts are focused on supporting women and their families to meet their breastfeeding goals, in line with UNICEF Baby Friendly guidance. You will work alongside the Northumbria Health Care Trust's midwifery services to meet the needs of mothers, babies, and their families, we also work in collaboration with Growing Healthy Northumberland's 0-19 service to support our Northumberland offer. You will undertake home visits and assist women and their families with comprehensive and contemporary knowledge around infant feeding.
