Service Design and Transition Manager
Duration: 6 monthsLocation: Remote with travel to London or Chesterfield once per monthPay range: £600.00- £700.00 per day/ Inside IR35
Our client is seeking a Service Delivery & Transition Manager to lead the next stage of the programme, following the completion of the initial design phase and approval of a business case. The role will focus on the procurement of an End User Computing (EUC) supplier, working through the transition from the current service to a new supplier. This will involve supporting the procurement process, ensuring service requirements are clearly defined, and managing the transition and operational readiness activities through to successful implementation.Responsibilities include:
Produce and manage the first complete version of an end-to-end transition plan aligned with programme milestones and operational readiness.Act as the central point of contact between the business and suppliers, maintaining alignment on expectations and responsibilities through regular meetings, communications and appropriate follow-up.Ensure business requirements, operational needs and supplier capabilities are understood, agreed and documented.Manage internal and external stakeholders, providing timely information and maintaining an appropriate and effective level of engagement.Plan and oversee service acceptance testing and go-live rehearsals.Assess new suppliers in detail to confirm their capability to meet delivery requirements, supported by thorough documentation and stakeholder assurance.Complete the integration of the new service in line with agreed acceptance criteria.Oversee the handover into business as usual, ensuring comprehensive documentation is provided and BAU teams are fully prepared to support the smooth operation of the new service.
Skills & Experience include:
Strong End User Computing (EUC) experience, ideally gained within a large or complex technology environment.Proven experience delivering service transition and service delivery programmes, particularly transitions between incumbent and new suppliers.Strong working knowledge of Active Directory (AD) and the wider EUC environment, with the ability to understand technical dependencies and service requirements.Experience working through supplier procurement, reprocurement or mobilisation, ideally involving the transition of an outsourced technology service.Experience of public procurement processes and, ideally, delivering technology service transitions within a public sector environment.Proven experience developing and managing end-to-end transition plans, including operational readiness, service acceptance, testing and go-live.Strong supplier management experience, including assessing supplier capability, managing expectations and ensuring delivery against agreed requirements.Experience managing service acceptance testing, go-live rehearsals and operational readiness activities.Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work across business, technical, procurement and supplier teams.Experience managing handover into BAU, including documentation, knowledge transfer and ensuring support teams are ready to operate the new service.Strong understanding of service management, governance and operational processes, with the ability to identify risks, dependencies and gaps throughout transition.
