About the role
Residential Support Worker - Children's Residential Home
Location: Derbyshire Belper DE56
Shifts Available:
- Early: 07:00 - 14:00
- Long Day: 07:00 - 22:00
- Waking Night: 21:00 - 08:00
We are recruiting Residential Support Workers for a therapeutic, trauma-informed children's home supporting young people aged 15-16 years.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a newly established service that provides a safe, nurturing and supportive environment where young people can recover from trauma, develop independence and achieve positive outcomes.
Working as part of a dedicated team, you will support young people with their daily routines, education, emotional wellbeing and personal development while promoting stability, safety and positive relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day care and support to young people
- Build positive and trusting relationships
- Support education, activities and appointments
- Promote independence and life skills
- Maintain accurate records and safeguarding practices
- Work alongside families and external professionals
- Support young people with emotional and behavioural needs, including ADHD
Requirements
- Experience working with children and young people
- Understanding of trauma-informed practice
- Team Teach training desirable
- Full UK Driving Licence desirable
- Flexible to work a mixture of shifts, including weekends and waking nights
