About the role

People & Organisational Development Support Officer


Location: Mansfield NG18 4RG
(Hybrid Working - 2-3 days in the office)
Pay Rate: £12.71 per hour
Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Contract: 10-week temporary assignment with potential extension
Clearance: Basic DBS Required (to be provided by Brook Street for successful applicants)


Are you an organised administrator with a keen eye for detail and an interest in developing a career in HR?
We are recruiting for a People & Organisational Development Support Officer to join the Mining Remediation Authority's People & OD team. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience within a busy HR function, supporting a range of people processes including onboarding, recruitment, employee records, payroll administration and organisational development activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support across the People & Organisational Development team.
  • Coordinate new starter onboarding, including pre-employment checks and inductions.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and update HR systems.
  • Manage the People Team inbox and respond to employee queries.
  • Support recruitment administration and hiring processes.
  • Process employee changes, absence reporting and leaver administration.
  • Assist with payroll reporting, invoicing and general team administration.
  • Support training, organisational development and Equality, Diversity & Inclusion initiatives.

About You


To be successful, you will have:

  • Previous administration experience in an office environment.
  • Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience handling confidential information professionally.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • A proactive and positive approach to work.
  • A genuine interest in developing a career within HR or People Services.

Desirable

  • Previous HR or recruitment administration experience.
  • Experience maintaining databases or HR systems.
  • Experience supporting payroll, finance or procurement processes.
  • CIPD qualification or willingness to work towards one.
