About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced RGN Deputy Manager to join the leadership team of a well-established Elderly Care home. This role is ideal for a compassionate and experienced nurse with a strong clinical background and previous leadership experience within a nursing home environment. Working alongside the Home Manager and wider care team, you will support the day-to-day running of the service, ensuring high standards of clinical care, compliance and person-centred support. You will be responsible for leading and supporting the care team while maintaining excellent standards of clinical practice and resident care. Key Responsibilities of the RGN Deputy Manager • Support the Home Manager with the day-to-day running of the nursing home. • Lead, motivate and support the care team to deliver high-quality, person-centred care. • Lead and supervise the care team, including staff induction, mentoring and ongoing development. • Administer and manage medication, including ordering and medication audits. • Liaise effectively with multidisciplinary teams, families and external healthcare professionals. • Assess and plan care for new admissions to the home. • Monitor standards of care and ensure compliance with policies, procedures and best practice. • Supervise, mentor and support new and junior members of staff. • Maintain effective communication with residents, relatives, visitors and external professionals. • Promote a positive, supportive and accountable team culture. • Manage your workload effectively while maintaining consistently high standards of care. Requirements • RGN qualification with valid NMC registration. • Minimum 3 years' experience working within the UK. • Previous experience in a clinical leadership or senior nursing role. • Strong clinical skills and up-to-date professional knowledge. • Experience working within a nursing home or elderly care environment. • A compassionate, caring and professional approach. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to nurture, develop and inspire staff. • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work independently. • Confidence liaising with external agencies, healthcare professionals and families. • A genuine passion for delivering high-quality, person-centred care.
