Job Title: Fire Alarm Design Engineer
Location: North-East
Salary: Up to £55,000 + Package
Are you a Fire Alarm Design Engineer based in the North-East looking for your next opportunity? As a Fire Alarm Design Engineer, you will be responsible for producing detailed fire alarm system designs for a range of commercial, industrial, and residential projects, working to relevant British Standards and client specifications. You will be joining an established company with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality fire and security solutions to its customers.
Responsibilities:
* Produce fire alarm system designs, drawings, and schematics using CAD software in accordance with BS 5839.
* Carry out site surveys to gather information required for design purposes, identifying system requirements and potential installation challenges.
* Prepare detailed design documentation, specifications, and cable schedules for handover to installation teams.
* Liaise with clients, consultants, and project managers throughout the design process to ensure requirements are met.
* Review and respond to design queries raised during the installation phase, providing technical support as required.
* Ensure all designs comply with current British Standards, building regulations, and relevant industry guidelines.
Experience and Certifications required:
* Minimum 3 years' experience in fire alarm system design within the fire and security industry.
* Proven ability to design systems to BS 5839 Part 1 and Part 6.
* Proficiency in CAD software for the production of fire alarm drawings and schematics.
* Experience with fire alarm panels from leading manufacturers such as Advanced, Hochiki, or Notifier.
* FIA Design Certificate or equivalent industry qualification (desirable).
* ECS Gold Card or LPCB accreditation (desirable).
