Job Title: Fire Alarm Design Engineer
Location: London/South-East
Salary: Up to £55,000 + Package
Are you a Fire Alarm Design Engineer based in London/South-East looking for your next opportunity? As a Fire Alarm Design Engineer, you will be responsible for producing detailed fire alarm system designs across a range of commercial, residential, and industrial projects, working to relevant British Standards and client specifications to deliver compliant, high-quality solutions. You will be joining an established company with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality fire and security solutions to its customers.
Responsibilities:
* Produce detailed fire alarm designs, drawings, and schematics using CAD software in line with BS 5839 and project requirements.
* Carry out site surveys to gather accurate information and inform design proposals.
* Prepare technical design documentation, specifications, and cause-and-effect matrices for client and consultant review.
* Liaise with project managers, engineers, and external consultants to ensure designs are delivered on time and to specification.
* Review and respond to design queries, RFIs, and consultant comments throughout the project lifecycle.
* Ensure all designs meet current regulatory and British Standard requirements, supporting compliance sign-off.
Experience and Certifications required:
* Minimum 3 years of experience in fire alarm design within the fire and security industry.
* Proven ability to design systems to BS 5839 across a variety of project types and scales.
* Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD for producing fire alarm drawings and layouts.
* Strong understanding of cause-and-effect programming, panel specifications, and system configurations.
* Full UK driving licence.
* FIA Design qualification or equivalent (desirable).
* ECS/CSCS card (desirable).
