Have you recently graduated with a Psychology degree and are looking to gain hands-on experience working with children and young people with additional needs?
Pink Tile Education is working with a specialist school in Portsmouth that supports pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, including Autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, and social, emotional and mental health challenges. This inclusive and nurturing school is recognised for its therapeutic approach, small class sizes, and commitment to helping every pupil achieve their full potential.
This role is an excellent opportunity for aspiring Educational Psychologists, Clinical Psychologists, Counsellors, Therapists or Teachers looking to gain valuable practical experience within a specialist educational setting.
The Role
As a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will:
Support pupils with a range of SEND needs in the classroom
Work on a 1:1 and small-group basis to deliver targeted interventions
Help pupils develop confidence, communication and emotional regulation skills
Support learning activities tailored to individual needs and EHCP targets
Build positive relationships with pupils and help promote engagement in learning
Work closely with teachers, therapists and other support professionals
Contribute to a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment
We’re Looking For
A degree in Psychology or a related subject
A genuine interest in SEND, mental health and child development
A patient, empathetic and resilient approach
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
The ability to build positive relationships with young people
Previous experience working with children, young people or vulnerable adults is beneficial but not essential
