Civils Inspector

Amentum (UK) Ltd, a leading provider in the Defence & Security sector, is seeking a highly skilled Civils Inspector for a contract role. This position is focused on ensuring the quality of civil and structural works, complying with detailed drawings, specifications, and robust hold-point governance before concrete pours and structural close-out.

Purpose:

Inspect and assure quality of civil/structural works to ensure compliance with drawings/specs, ITPs, and robust hold-point governance before pours and structural close-out.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect pre-pour readiness: formwork, rebar installation, cover/spacing, embeds/anchors, cast-in channels, penetrations, sleeves, inserts, and pour permits.
• Monitor and record concrete activities: delivery tickets, placement methods, vibration/compaction controls, curing, cube/cylinder sampling coordination (as applicable).
• Inspect structural steel installation where in scope: baseplates, bolting, fit-up, tolerances, survey/alignment checks.
• Maintain inspection records and turnover packs; ensure traceability of materials and installed items.
• Raise NCRs / punch items; verify remediation; participate in walkdowns with client/contractor teams.

Essential Experience / Qualifications:

• Proven civil/structural inspection experience on major infrastructure/industrial projects; nuclear experience preferred.
• Strong ITP / hold-point discipline and understanding of inspection records needed for regulated handover.
• Ability to interpret civil GA drawings, reinforcement drawings, BBS, embed schedules, survey requirements.
