TECHNICAL MANAGER/TECHNICAL LEAD – FOOD IMPORT & DISTRIBUTION, LONDON
  
This Technical Manager/Technical Lead career opportunity has arisen for a well-established, highly successful independent specialist food importer and distributor, based in central London.
  
They are a small, yet dynamic leadership team, supplying most sectors of the UK food industry, including leading food manufacturers and wholesale sectors, with a wide range of ambient ingredients, many of which will be found in familiar grocery brands and retailer own-label ranges.

The Technical team manage global supply chain compliance and food standards in a business that works at pace – this is a very busy time for this organisation primarily due to business growth.
  
This role will involve some travel around the UK and some international travel. It is office-based in central London.
  
About you

As the Technical expert in the business, you will be working closely with the MD and the wider internal and external stakeholders, and so you must be comfortable collaborating at all levels, and having the challenging conversation if required; always remaining true to your high levels of technical integrity and driving Technical excellence throughout the organisation.
  
You will enjoy the diversity of a busy Technical role;  from supplier and customer interaction, developing systems and, managing a small team, through to travelling the UK and occasional international visits auditing facilities. 

Working knowledge of GFSI systems and procedures, particularly BRCGS; GB and EU food safety regulations, is essential, as well as HACCP and TACCP systems and procecures. 
  
Familiarity with third party specification systems/retailer portals would be beneficial.  Equally key is your working knowledge of CSR systems including SEDEX and SMETA.
  
Currently, you may be in a lead Technical Manager role, or in a Number-Two / deputy role and feeling more than ready for your first Technical Lead role. Or you may be in an Auditor role and ready to return to a site-based Technical Management remit with just ‘some’ travel.
