Are you looking for a rewarding role in education that fits around your life? Do you want to gain experience in a variety of school settings across Cambridge without being tied down to a permanent contract?
We are currently recruiting adaptable, enthusiastic, and dependable Teaching Assistants to support a diverse range of primary, secondary, and special educational needs (SEN) schools throughout the Cambridge area. Whether you are looking for day-to-day supply work, a consistent 3-day-a-week role, or a term-long placement, we have options to match your availability.
The Positions AvailableBecause we support numerous schools across the city-from historic central Cambridge schools to vibrant community colleges in the surrounding villages-we have a wide range of temporary assignments available:
General Classroom TA: Supporting the class teacher, managing behaviour, and helping groups of children with their daily learning.
1:1 SEN Support: Working closely with individual students who have additional needs such as Autism (ASD), ADHD, or Speech and Language difficulties.
Intervention TA: Leading small groups in targeted reading, writing, or maths catch-up sessions.
Early Years Specialists: Supporting nursery and reception classes with play-based learning and outdoor activities.
Temporary work requires a proactive attitude and the ability to hit the ground running. We welcome applications from experienced educators, graduates looking for school experience, or individuals with transferable care background.
Requirements:
Experience: Previous experience working with children or young people (schools, youth clubs, coaching, or care settings).
Adaptability: The ability to walk into a new classroom environment and quickly build rapport with students and staff.
Reliability: Strong communication and punctuality-schools rely heavily on temporary staff to keep their classrooms running smoothly.
Location: Ability to travel to schools within Cambridge (access to public transport or a car is highly beneficial).
Safeguarding: A valid Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or the willingness to apply for a new one).
Total Flexibility: You choose when and where you want to work. Perfect for students, parents, or anyone balancing other commitments.
Incredible Variety: Expand your CV by experiencing different school cultures, age groups, and teaching methodologies across Cambridge.
Competitive Pay: Weekly pay via PAYE with access to a workplace pension scheme.
A Foot in the Door: Many of our temporary roles frequently transition into permanent contract offers for the right candidates.
