About the role

Hi, Location & Service Insight
  • Location: The role is both office and community-based, covering Kirkcaldy, Dunfermline, Cowdenbeath, and Cardenden.
  • The Service: The Fife service supports over 60 autistic adults across a variety of settings. It involves managing varying levels of service complexity, including 1:1 and 2:1 staffing ratios.
The Schedule
  • Contract: There are Full-Time and Part-Time positions available, making up 6 Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) roles in total.
  • Working Pattern: The role operates on a days and evening shift pattern. Candidates must be fully flexible, as the shifts include evenings and weekends.
  • On-Call & Sleepovers: The role includes on-call duties (which depend on your location and stage of development) and opportunities for sleepover shifts.
Pay Rates
  • As we discussed previously, the starting pay is £13.45 per hour, which automatically rises to £13.67 per hour post-engagement.
  • Staff can progress on the pay scale up to £14.15 per hour at their own pace.
  • There is a generous additional allowance of £107.60 for each sleepover worked.
Key Responsibilities
  • Following outcome-based support plans and acting as a Keyworker.
  • Providing personal care to the supported individuals.
  • Developing and implementing low arousal support, following Studio 3 principles, which focuses on reducing and eliminating restraint.
  • Maintaining accurate and robust records using Scottish Autism's online systems.
Candidate Requirements
  • Experience: The client is explicitly seeking confident, enthusiastic, and experienced support professionals. A minimum of 1 year of care experience is highly preferred.
  • Compliance: Candidates must be members of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme and be registered with the SSSC (or willing to work towards a relevant qualification to achieve registration).
  • Skills: Strong IT and digital skills are required for sharing information and logging records.
