Machine Minder – Technical

We have an exciting opportunity to work for a nationally recognised food manufacturer, considered to be the leader in its field. Pay rates from £14.78 per hour. The role is based in Park Royal.

Asset Care role focused on looking after our Proseal tooling sets in the meals production area. This is a hands-on position where you’ll take ownership of the tools and dies that keep our tray-sealing lines running smoothly.

Who we’re looking for

No previous experience on Proseal machines is required. What matters is the right mindset:

• A genuine DIY / hands-on approach – if you enjoy taking things apart, figuring out how they work and putting them back together properly, you’re already halfway there
• Basic mechanical, electrical or electronic understanding (enough to feel comfortable around tools, fasteners, simple mechanisms and basic fault-finding)
• Confidence stripping down and rebuilding mechanical assemblies – even regular bike maintenance or similar hobby-level work is a strong plus
• Any background helping maintain or fix production equipment (or being part of a team that did) is useful, but not essential

We’ll give you full in-house training on the Proseal tooling and processes. Once you transfer onto a permanent contract there will also be external courses to build your skills further.

What the role looks like day-to-day

You’ll work directly with Proseal tooling – inspecting, cleaning, stripping down, reassembling and maintaining the mechanical parts that form and seal our food trays. Expect to be on the tools: using hand tools, measuring equipment and basic workshop kit to keep the tooling in good condition and ready for production.

You’ll be based in the meals area, working closely with the production and engineering teams so that tooling issues are spotted and sorted quickly. The work is practical, methodical and very much “get stuck in.”
