Family Support Worker

Sir Christopher Hatton Academy, The Pyghtle, Wellingborough

At Sir Christopher Hatton Academy, we provide an education with character, encompassing our core values of Excellence, Aspiration, Achievement, Inspiration and Community to ensure that all our students are flourishing and prepared for the tests of life, not just a life of tests. To enable this, we need great staff on our team.

We are looking to appoint a Family Support Worker to provide day to day practical assistance to the Vice Principal, the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, and the Attendance & Welfare Officer; and to promote student well-being and attendance across the Academy.

This exciting role sits within the wider welfare team and at its heart, is supporting students and their families to address barriers that affect welfare and attendance. By helping to ensure young people are safe, supported, and able to fully engage in their education, you will play a vital role in improving outcomes. It is a highly meaningful position that offers the opportunity to make a real and lasting difference to the life chances of young people.

You’ll be a consistent point of contact for students, providing support, welfare and guidance. You will also play a key role in engaging hard-to-reach families, and families who require extra support, including undertaking home visits to help strengthen home-school relationships.
