Introduction

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting an experienced Painter for an initial 3-month temporary contract in Plymouth.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Painter, Painter and Decorator, Commercial Painter, or Industrial Painter to support painting and decorating works across commercial and/or industrial premises.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out high-quality painting and finishing work while maintaining safe working practices at all times.

A valid MEWP licence (IPAF or equivalent) is highly desirable, as some tasks may involve working at height using access equipment.

Key Duties

• Prepare surfaces for painting, including sanding, filling, cleaning, and priming.
• Apply paint, varnish, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
• Carry out internal and external painting and decorating works.
• Work from drawings, specifications, and instructions to complete tasks efficiently.
• Protect surrounding areas and maintain a clean and tidy working environment.
• Identify and report defects, damage, or maintenance issues.
• Operate access equipment safely where required.
• Comply with health and safety regulations, site rules, and risk assessments.
• Complete painting and decorating work to a high standard within agreed timescales.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Painter or Painter and Decorator.
• Good knowledge of surface preparation and paint application techniques.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Understanding of health and safety requirements in a working environment.
• Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude.

Desirable:

• Valid MEWP licence.
• Experience working within commercial, industrial, or facilities management environments.
• Full UK driving licence.
