Rate: £20.00 - £22.00 per hour PAYE
Contract Length: Initial 6-month contract with a strong likelihood of extension. This opportunity is expected to be long-term, supporting ongoing Safran programmes.

Morson is proud to be working in partnership with Safran to recruit Buyers to support the Central Supply Chain division at their Wolverhampton site.

The Role
As a Buyer, you will play a key role in ensuring the timely delivery of critical components and materials from a portfolio of suppliers.
Working closely with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers, you will manage purchase orders, resolve supply chain issues, and take proactive action to minimise disruption. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and takes a hands-on approach to supplier management.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the order book and scheduled purchase orders across multiple suppliers.
- Raise RFQs, resolve invoice discrepancies, and challenge pricing variations where necessary.
- Provide regular delivery updates to key stakeholders and maintain escalation trackers.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Finance, Programmes, and Operations teams to resolve supply chain challenges.
- Monitor and manage personal performance metrics and KPIs.
- Support Account Managers with supplier reviews, cost negotiations, and continuous improvement activities.
- Work with NPI (New Product Introduction) teams to ensure supply chain readiness for new programmes.
- Assist with change management initiatives and supplier strategy aligned to business objectives.
- Drive continuous improvement, cost reduction, and delivery performance across the supplier base.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience within Supply Chain, Purchasing, or Manufacturing Planning.
- Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Knowledge and experience of SAP.
- Confidence in managing challenging conversations with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret performance metrics and data.
- Proactive, driven, and solution-focused approach.
- Experience working within the aerospace industry.
- Understanding of engineering or technical environments.
- CIPS qualification and a 2:1 degree (or above) in Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.
