Job summary

As Great Britain builds a greener and more secure energy system, we need to forge stronger connections beyond our borders. Ofgem is looking for a Senior Policy Manager to help shape the future of electricity interconnection, develop cross-border energy policies and support a cleaner, more secure and more resilient future.

Ofgem is Great Britain's independent energy regulator. We're at the forefront of change across the energy sector, driving toward Net Zero whilst protecting energy consumers, especially vulnerable people.

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity to help shape the future of electricity interconnection, strengthen energy security, accelerate Net Zero and deliver lasting benefits for consumers.

You'll develop innovative frameworks for future interconnector projects, offshore hybrid assets and cross-border arrangements, shaping how future interconnection is delivered and financed. As part of a passionate, collaborative team, you'll help deliver projects that will improve energy security, increase system flexibility and maximise renewable energy generation.

Job description

You’ll bring strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities across a varied portfolio. Your knowledge of energy markets, particularly GB and/or EU markets, interconnectors, offshore networks or cross-border trade will set you up for success in the role.

In return, you'll have the chance to grow your career and develop your skill-set within our exceptional environment with flexible and hybrid working options, a market-leading benefits package and superb rewards structure. What’s more, you’ll be helping shape the future of cross-border energy infrastructure, supporting a greener, more secure and more connected energy system for generations to come.
