About the role
DSPP Joint Business Support Officer
Grade 6 | Dudley Safeguarding People Partnership (DSPP)
2 X Permanent Full Time positions
Are you an organised, proactive and motivated professional looking for a role where your work makes a real difference? Do you thrive in a collaborative environment and enjoy supporting complex partnership activity that helps improve outcomes for children, young people, adults and families?
The Dudley Safeguarding People Partnership (DSPP) is seeking a Joint Business Support Officer to join our dedicated Business Unit. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a small, highly effective team at the heart of safeguarding arrangements across Dudley.
DSPP is a unique partnership funded by the three statutory safeguarding partners: Dudley Council, West Midlands Police and the Black Country Integrated Care Board (ICB). The work of the Partnership is underpinned by national legislation, providing strategic leadership, scrutiny, and challenge to ensure that safeguarding arrangements across Dudley are effective and continually improving.
As a member of our Business Unit, you will be joining a passionate and supportive team that understands the ever changing and often complex challenges facing children, young people, vulnerable adults and their families. We work closely together, adapting to emerging needs and priorities, while maintaining a relentless focus on achieving positive outcomes and learning from practice.
In this varied and rewarding role, you will provide high-quality business support to the Partnership and its sub-groups, coordinating meetings, preparing agendas and minutes, managing action plans, supporting safeguarding reviews, inspections and quality assurance activity, and helping to deliver training and development programmes. You will work with senior leaders and professionals from across partner agencies, contributing to work that directly influences safeguarding practice across the borough.
What we are looking for:
- An excellent organiser with strong administrative and coordination skills.
- Someone who can build positive working relationships with a wide range of partners and stakeholders.
- A confident communicator with strong written skills and experience of producing high-quality minutes and reports.
- Understand the importance of complying with Statutory legislation, timelines and governance
- An individual who can manage competing priorities, work independently and use initiative.
- A professional who can handle sensitive information with discretion and integrity.
Why join us?
- Be part of a small, close-knit and supportive team where every contribution matters.
- Work across a diverse range of safeguarding activity that has a real impact on people's lives.
- Collaborate with senior leaders and professionals from across health, police, local authority and wider partner organisations.
- Develop your skills and knowledge within a dynamic safeguarding environment.
- Contribute to a partnership that is committed to learning, innovation and continuous improvement.
If you are passionate about supporting effective partnership working and want to help make Dudley a safer place for children, young people, adults and families, we would love to hear from you.
